The good news is that Joeapos;s made new friends at school He and his new friend Aaron have been walking down to Skyfox on their lunch break to look at Warhammertrade; pieces. Joeapos;s talking about getting back into the game play. Also, heapos;s playing Magic: The Gatheringtrade; again. Yay Both are hobbies that get him out of the house and playing with other (real, not online) people. He came home from school with two (count apos;em, two) new friends in tow the other day.
The bad news is he picked the wrong day to bring friends home. We had to ground him that same day due to a phone call from his teacher. My son, the kid in the gifted class who tested highest in language, the one who took French Immersion for six years, is currently failing French Why? Because heapos;s bored, hates French, couldnapos;t be bothered to do a single damned thing and lied to us about his continuing lack of homework. Things will change. We have decreed it. (Also, weapos;re on his ass now, like it or not.) In the week and a half since, he has caught up on his work and is working towards maintaining what we have decided is the minimum grade expectation. I have not told him I will not punish him for a C but have made sure that he understands that I believe him capable of an A and I expect a minimum of a B from now on. Actually, I think weapos;ve finally got him on the right track. Now I must remain consistant (consistantly on his ass that is) and we will prevail
